In 1919, it served as the headquarters of Miklós Horthy, and after 1945, it was nationalized and operated as a resort. From the early 2000s, it served as a college library for nearly a decade, and then underwent a complete renovation in 2013. The building, which is owned by the city, received the "Our Heritage - Treasure of Somogy County" award in 2013.

Currently, it operates as an accommodation facility.
