Jókai spent his last summer in 1903 as a guest in this charming villa by Lake Balaton. Jókai Mór frequently visited Siófok and drew inspiration from his experiences during the boat trips from Siófok to Balatonfüred for his novel "The Man with the Golden Touch" (Aranyember).
Until the end of World War II, the villa functioned as a holiday accommodation for those seeking relaxation in Siófok. In 1947, it was nationalized. During the years of socialism, the building housed the police, a music school, and the Pannónia Center. In 1995, the villa returned to private ownership.
Currently, the villa operates as a restaurant and hotel.
